Hi from South America!

Been for the search of my first car, after a lot of research in the internet (mainly this forum) I finally bought myself a Manual, 3.0 L 2004 Z4.

Not really much to add, the car is in pretty great condition, a bit of TLC and I hope it can look like some of the cars I´ve seen in this forum!

The only Minor (Expen$ive problem) is the cars pop up display/sat-nav, screen look like it has been burned due to high temperatures or maybe direct sunlight that shined on it. I dont know if the LCD (I think) screen is replaceable or once thats toast I have to go out looking for a new entire unit. Been eyeing one up on ebay but it´s super out of my budget.

I´ll keep on doing my research in this forum to see if I find anything, any recomendations whatsoever even more so if its regarding the car´s sat-nav screen would be greatly appreciated.

(I added some pics, I hope that you can see them. Getting the hang of the forum not really sure how it works :headbang: )

Hi and welcome to the forum from not so sunny England. Your car looks lovely and in great condition  . As per your pop up screen, don't bother replacing the old unit, I have read a few members convert this to a more modern 'carplay' via a Chinese aftermarket screen setup. I'm unsure if it's a plug and play option, but I think it's definitely achievable as a replacement of your current (and probably outdated) set up. I'm sure someone more qualified than myself will be along shortly to point you in the right direction.

Welcome to the forum and well done for posting the photos . As stated by [ref]Special Kay[/ref], replace the satnav with a newer aftermarket version or just use your phone and fit a cheap bluetooth kit . Lots of posts about this on the forum

Welcome. :) Great looking Z4 you have there. 8)

The original sat Nav is pants. Don't waste you money fixing it. Better to use your phone. Or as said there are also aftermarket options.

Hi! Thanks for the compliments on the car & tips about the screen issue. The thing is I really like the Pop-Up screen, it gives me those James Bond Vibes, although I know it´s totally impractical nowadays and extremely outdated to have that Sat-Nav, but i´ve been researching and i´ve seen that people switch the screen on the X3 model Sat Navs for the Z4´s and they sort of make it work.

I´ll have to see how much it would cost me and if it´s actually worth it, now I´ve sent it to the shop for it´s much needed maintenance.
