I've had the 2009 E89 Z4 for about a year now and though I purchased it used it didn't give me any major issues until recently.

Why does BMW use such cheap parts when it comes to the gaskets (had to change the valve cover gasket, oil pan gasket, and oil filter housing gasket) on top of now the dang microswitch for the hard top convertible (which appears to be an issue for many owners at the 100k miles mark).

I think it's time to just buy new and keep up with the easy maintenance.

Good news is that you’ve had most of the issues on the 23i…so here’s to another 100k miles :thumbsup: :driving:

Although pictures are a prerequisite, if you could post some that don't show too much of the Florida sunshine that would make us Brits all a little happier. :D
