Hi Everyone!
Long time lurker, first time poster here.
I'm Richard from Sweden. New to the Z4, but not to BMWs in general. We've had a few in my family and I've always been very fond of them. Here's my car history that led me here.
1. Volvo V50

Like a proper Swede, I was taught to drive in a Volvo Estate. Decent car with five-cylinder noises! I remember the ESP could only be partially switched off, was probably a good thing in hindsight, as my friends and I had way too much fun during the wintertime lunch breaks.
2. BMW 330 Coupé

Saved long and hard to buy my first "proper" car. Ended up finding a 2003 330Ci in absolutely fantastic condition with only 70 000 kms. Full M-Sports Package, adaptive Xenons, Harman Kardon, Sunroof etc. I remember people telling me how crazy I was to buy a BMW while in college, but it didn't cost me (that) much and never left me stranded.
3. Mini Clubman S Diesel (not my photo)

Had the option of buying this car from a family member for a good price. It made financial sense to jump on this car and I would probably never have bought a Mini if it wasn't for the circumstances, but I'm glad I did. It's a car that really surprised me in a positive way. Drove like a go-cart.
4. BMW 330 Coupé - Another one!

Had landed my first job after college and after receiving a promotion, bought myself a new toy! People around the forums always told me I would be back in an E46. They were right. This time an -05 in Sapphire Black. Loved this car but didn't keep it for long, as it was a bit of a stop-gap until the car that followed. I remember this one feeling a lot quicker than my previous -03 despite having done 120 000 km.
5. Golf R

Just minutes away from my office was the VW Showroom. When the Golf GTI Clubsport (Edition 40) was released, I was instantly drawn towards it. We previously had a Porsche GT3 in the family, and the GTI Clubsport had all the "GT3-pedigree" with alcantara everywhere and bucket seats. Driving it, was a bit of a letdown however and my VW dealer suggested I also test the R. So I did, and quickly forgot about the GTI! The Golf R was a sensational car. So I bought one! Buying a brand new 300hp car at the age of 23 was a major milestone and I loved every bit about the Golf R. I understand they have a bit of a reputation in the UK, and that is a shame as it's the perfect do it all car. I doubt much can keep up with it on a typical B-road, and still I had place for my bike in the back. It was fun and practical, all year round. After two and a half years I sold it to fund my first home purchase, but I still miss it.
Managed to live without a car for about a year, but after awhile, circumstances allowed a new toy...
6. Enter the BMW Z4!

I've always wanted a Z4 but I never quite got the timing right. Well this time, it worked out very well and I managed to source a great example. It's the 3.0si which is surprisingly rare here in Sweden due to emission regulations at the time in 2006-2007. Super happy about this one. It's done 50 000km. 6-speed manual!
I look forward to being part of this great community! Can't wait for spring.
