Any one looking to freshin up there Zed ! Bought these thinking they would be better than old worn mats ! after getting a price from dealer of £80 got these from ebay ! very impressed.

Not rubber ! Normal backing , mats are very good quality I would say as good as genuine BMW mats !
 
Questions questions!!

Does the drivers side have velcro on the back to stop them moving about like originals?
 
No , but look ok ! have not moved so far ,just fitted them only driven a few miles to work.
 
I'd recommend the rubber mats from BMW. They fit perfectly, are so much easier to clean (quick pass over with the shop vac), and look great.

Interesting that your Zed appears to have hook anchors to prevent movement whereas UK models as far as I recall have velcor on floor matched to mats.

(Amazing what you look at when sat in airport lounges with nothing better to do :) )
 
I bought some big cheap plastic mats and used carpet as a template. It just sits on top of the drivers side only.

The screw hooks work great! They keep the mats absolutely still and require all of 2 seconds to move the mat around the hook in the event you need to remove the mat. Cost- $55 for the mats (hooks included) from a dealership.
 
Those rubber mats might be practical but they do nothing for me except make me want to :sick: they look absolutely terrible and would not look out of place in a 1970s Vauxhall Viva, they have no place in a noughties car never mind a Z4 IMO, except possibly for the thick of winter when there is 10" of snow on the ground and you don't want everything getting waterlogged, as for me I'll stick with vacuming the carpet mats every couple of weeks.
 
Richard, I respectfully disagree. But, the pictures speak for themselves, so anyone thinking of making the change can see the before/after difference prior to spending their money. I think they look great AND are practical, though it doesn't snow here. You hate these mats like I hate the look of Alpina wheels on the Z4. Ain't diversity/individuality grand? :wink:

And I have no idea what a vauxhall looks like, as I've never heard of it. This must not have been offered in America. Being a gearhead, it looks like a google search is in order...
