New Macbook air!

Well after being dragged into town with a hangover, I stopped in the Apple store (not a good idea :rofl: ) and was looking at the new MacBook air. Have to say was very impressed, and it's so so small and light. Was so impressed I bought it :D well just sold my MacBook (white one) which was only four months old and wanted a MacBook pro really.

May sell the iPad now though, as this seems to be the best of both worlds so to speak.
 
Just transferring the data over now, only 5 hours left :D

Everything about macs does seem to be so easy. I was going to sell the MacBook as I have the iPad, and then just get a cheaper laptop for the missis to break, but seeing the air :P
 
How much lighter do you find the macbook air over the ipad?

I am quite tempted by one.. as despite how awesome the ipad is in the kitchen with its touchscreen and my recipe apps.. I find it somewhat limited in what it can do.
 
Yeah same to degree, but I had the white MacBook and the iPad. So the iPad was useful but a tad limited for my use, and the MacBook was quite big and heavy. Where as the MacBook air is everything of both tbh, and with the new software they are releasing it will be brilliant by the sound of it :D
 
Do they have touch screen on the MacBooks now? I hear that the next OS Lion will have the functionality and look of the iPad along with dedicated Apps. Strange as the OS software development sort of went: Mac to iPhone to iPad to Mac! :P

No touch screen macs for the near future. They are taking some of the visual styling and UI concepts learned from iOS. Also with the mac app store I suspect developers (such as myself :)) will be able to write universal apps that can run on any iOS device or Lion. Exciting times as ever with Apple :D
 
Not yet, but probably soon. One thing I do love about the iPad is the touch screen! Shame but never have anywhere to rest the dam thing anyway lol
