New Key

I only have one key for my z and have been thinking about getting a new one.
Before I call the dealers tomorrow for a price I wondered if anyone on here has had one done recently ? and if so how much ?
 
I had a replacement done at http://www.bmkeys.com

I got a Bentley style flip key and a plastic service key for £70.

hows the flip key holding up with day to day use?

i want 1 but have to wait till im going in that direction before going and getting a new couple of keys done :)

Yeah seen his ads but I believe he has to have the car and he's down London and I'm up North :(
 
I've had the key a year and it's still working as it should. Used everyday and works every time. Only thing is the little BMW logo is starting to fade a bit on it.
 
I had one done for my 2 litre - it cost £120 but that was 2 or 3 years ago. There will be places nearer you - got to be something on the 'net. My specialist independent gave me the guys number for my key so you could try that approach in your area, maybe an independent specialist could help.

Check dealer prices to get some ideas of savings. The key I got was ok but lighter in weight than my original - it worked fine though.
 
I had a master key made through BMW Williams in Bolton - think it cost about £130. Also got them to do me a valet (plastic) key which starts the engine but doesn't unlock the glove compartment, think that was about £35.
 
Just had the Bentley flip keys done at BMkeys in London. Ben is a nice bloke and fast service. £70. Wish I hadn't tried to get home through central London though, took a good few hours at 5.30 at night!

Yes sounds a good bloke but don't fancy the 340mile round trip
 
i got a price from main dealers and they were not as dear as i was expecting, cant recall how much though lol

Hi Taz, Yes I'd put a post up a couple of days ago about me getting a price from main dealers, it's not as bad as I thought at £139
