New Kent 57 plate owner

Hi all,

I've just picked up a 57 plate Z4, previously had a 1 series and decided I wanted a convertible again!

It's the first time I've owned a soft top before, any recommendations on how to keep the roof in top condition? As you'd expect, online searches seem to suggest autoglyms maintenance pack, but interested to hear personal opinions.

Cheers,
Paul

Hi and welcome :)

I use RaggTopp as other do on here, as well as the autoglym and BMW kit.

If your interested we have a Kent/Sussex meet on the 27th of July. See the meet section for details.

Thanks srhutch, I'll definitely check out the meet and see if I can get along.

Will check out raggtopp and the official kit. Does anyone use specific brushes to keep the dirt off (avoiding damaging the fabric) when they are not using the cleaner?

Hi and welcome Paul

I use the Autoglym hood cleaning kit which keeps my soft top in tip top condition

I bought one from a detailing site, think the brand was OXO or something similar, as in the gravy

Hi and welcome to the Forum - I use Auto Glym but go easy with the cleaner or you will be washing off the suds for ages - and I try to keep the water from going into the hood electric motor by stuffing rags and towels along the back of the roof. The treatment part of the kit tend to run out quickly (you get enough for two treatments) - the cleaner lasts for ages - and you can't buy them separately!

Looking forward to seeing some photos.

:driving:

Sure...

57 plate, 2.5si, black sapphire paintwork, black oregon leather and interior trim

M Sport suspension, seats and steering wheel

Will be looking at putting some full HID's on at some point.

Here's a couple of photos for now, I'll post more when I've given it a full clean and taken better photos:

I seem to be having problems uploading pictures - can you not point the img source to a file on your c: drive?

Not unless you want everybody to be able to access you C drive 24/7

It's doesn't upload it, just links to it.
