20221020_160051.jpgI thought I would post what I did to the front of the car. I painted my upper grilles with trim paint and added the "M" colors. I the lower grilles I covered them with stainless mesh painted black. I believe it to be an improvement, I never liked those plastic grilles-they look cheap to me and should have been like this from the factory!!

I quite like that, other than the M stripes- just no. :rcard:

Hmmm, in isolation the lower grilles are good. But to me they contrast with the upper grilles and the whole ensemble doesn't meld.
But! As said before. It's your car. If you like it that's all that really matters. :thumbsup:

You guys really like the plastic look better? Well.that's why there are choices in this world-to each his own! I have to admit,the jury is still out on the "M" grille things,they may go ba-bye and
I will just put an "M" emblem in the lower mesh...

Not necessarily. My point was there now seem to be two separate themes and to my eye they don't gel.

You mean like silver grilles on top and black plastic on the bottom,as Biden says "come on man", but like was said in a previous post "to each his own"...

I don't know what you have done without a before shot. So hard to comment if it looks better or not.

It looks OK anyway. :)

The way the light falls on the mesh and it looks wavy after market cheap doesn't do it favours..
Here UK it looks a bit "Chaved up".

Defined;
"Used as a disparaging term for a poor or uneducated young person, especially one who behaves in a brash or vulgar manner and wears ostentatious clothing and jewelry."

And can be found at theme park Alton Towers, weekday when everyone else at work.

I wouldn't notice the mesh unless it was pointed out to me. The coloured grill slats are ugly though, it's something you tend see in poor areas done to tatty old BMWs. In the states you'd call it "beaner" or "ricer". Same story with the M emblem. Adding cosmetic things that didn't come on the car from the factory very rarely improves the look.

Don't you just love the sayings "each to their own" or "as long as you like it that's what matters". They are both polite ways of saying "looks like shite to me mate". :o :D

The M coloured slats look like it needs a dentist. The lower grilles look not much different IMO. But, hey, each to their own! :thumbsup:

Harsh crowd, now that the grill is gloss black there is an obvious mismatch to the front valance plastic inserts. When the grill was silver it didn’t matter.
