Nice one, well done!

Lovely! Seen as you went 2.5 to 2.0 and then go 3.0l is there as reason? I think you are probably the best person on here to give any comparison.

I only mention cause there have been a few who've gone 3.0l, granted the NA version to the 2.0l turbos and raved about them.

Just. Awesome.

I don't think there IS a bad color on the Z4.
Personally, I'd like to see it in BRG with tan leather... but this orange, and the dark blue are gorgeous. Congrats!

Congrats, would say it was lovely but its just as good looking as your old one :)
As Angie has said though, a write up is needed on your thoughts between models.

spot on 35is the best of the bunch by miles I love mine .I went from a m to 35is much better motor all round does everything so much better
:driving:

Well I have been asked to comment on my journey to the from the 61 plate 2.3 via a 2.8 then on to a 3.5 - it started with me wanting a 3.0 only to go to the dealer to find it had been sold :x tried out a nice white 2.3 auto Highline edition and ended up buying her :D was great but the better half didn't like the auto and paddles  - then got a call from the same dealer 1 year later saying that they wanted the car back and offered me a really good deal on a new one (usual sales trick - I thought) but it only cost be £500 for a years motoring in the 2.3 - got a big discount on a new 2.8 manual with loads of extras, full discount on the tyre and shortfall insurances. The new 14 plate 2.8 had a much better ride the 2.3 which was very hard (did have adaptive suspension mind) power wise huge difference the 2.8 much more torque - the sound is very nice for a four pot - a special sound - then we were out with the Forum on the Braemar run and packed next to Metallicker who started to rev his engine - the sound couldn't be ignored - got home and started looking - Glacier Grey picked - started speaking to the dealers and then "we have a Valencia Orange in stock" came back and the decision was made (it is our favourite colour) have only driven her 200 miles home mostly on motorway so not much chance to fully comment - but YES the King (or Queen) has arrived  just a point when we stopped with Metal Licker the 2.8 was doing the same mpg as his, so no gain on dropping to the 4 pot there. Going out today for a few miles so will get some more pics for you all :D

Looking to change my 28i to a 35is later this year and also fancy the Orange but with the black roof.

My only concern is the DCT compared to the 8 speed auto in the current 28i. How have you found it so far? Is it jerky at all and how is slow speed maneuvering and setting off?

Jerky? It's a dual clutch. It's so smooth you don't even notice it change be it at low speed or tanking it.

At low speed it doesn't have any issues or at setting off. People have mentioned a possible slight lag when pulling out, but really that's only if your pulling away hard and not in sport mode. If you pull away normally it's fine.

the only complaints i have about the DCT are:
. you can't freely shift to neutral
. it's a little slow shifting from reverse to drive

otherwise, excellent gearbox!

Good to hear guys

I went our in an E85 Z4 years ago with the old semi auto gearbox and it was truly awful. However that was the single clutch version then so I assumed the new one would be better. Glad to hear it's as good as it should be.
I do love the 8 speed auto 'box which has to be the best auto I've ever driven.
