Hi

So when not out in the car I am working through the following to do list,

Change brake fluid
Clean and protect roof - done, Autoglym kit
Renovate headlights - done
Full detail
Set up DSP using forum guide - done (amazing difference!!)
Throttle reset - done
Check front wishbone bushes (ongoing....help!)
Resonator mod - done
Check DISA valve - done and like new
Replace split intake ducting causing whistling - done
Fit battery conditioner - done
Clear roof motor drains - done
Deep clean wheels and arches - done but could do with a refurb or CSL!
Remove and clean/Glimtone seats - done
Wet vac and shampoo carpets - done while seats out
Upgrade sat nav to v32 and 2015 disk - done
Replace aerial - mmmm, started
Grease leaking from metal part of n/s/r cv joint
Cure squeak from roof remote release - done, peace at last!
Oil and filter change - done
Change gearbox and diff oil
Add sound deadening to the doors to stop tinny Citreonesque noise!
Retrofit cruise control

I am happy with everything about the car except a few bits of paintwork and the steering.

I have checked the bushes and all joints and they look ok but it does pull and wander, it does have run flats and needs an alignment check but I just can't help thinking it's the bushes, anyone local want to drive it and compare?

In return I have a full snap on verus diagnostic kit that I am happy to help anyone out with. I am a trained tech so can probably help someone out.

Thanks

John

Sounds like you are well onto getting your Z a car to enjoy .
A change of tyres would be a great step forward from RFTs & at the same time either switch alloys or have your current ones refurbed as Elipsoids do work well on Z4s ,
If you feel a sloppiness in the steering or a wandering at speed after new tyres then go for wheel alignment
If the front control arm bushes are shot a quick check to do is shake each front wheel while jacked slightly off the ground , if knocking or feel loose then attention required & not majorly expensive

Yeah I am considering the wheels, they do really need a refurb and I would love to come off run flats, I have swapped a number on previous BMWS. I do fancy some 19" CSL reps but just weighing up the cost really.

I have looked and looked again at the bushes and they seem fine, passing all wobble and pry bar tests, the tracking is towing out slightly so that won't be helping.

Thanks

John
