New car dilemma, looking for guidance.

Hi forum folk,

Looking to put my Z4 coupe on the market soon but do not know what to replace it with!?!? I love the Z4 and will be sad to see it go but i need something roomier and automatic so my better half can drive as well.
I only have £15k to spend, at a push £16k. Money no matter i would be in an F80 M3 :driving: :evil:
I have been looking at BMW 530d GT's ( well equipped, huge sunroof, very large but not the greatest looking but this can be over looked. Only thing is i am 31 and do not think the GT is not yet in my category. Furthermore my friend works for BMW and says the GT is the only BMW he doesn't like, due to the fact it doesn't handle like a BMW). Standard 5 series in general, but would like a 3 litre diesel due to me liking a bit of punch. However, most are not specced with split rear seats which would annoy me, and again, not sure if i am ready for an estate! I would be however if it was an 330/335d xdrive :thumbsup:
Last thing i have been looking at and before i bore you to death would be an F25 X3. However would only be the 2.0 litre SE models that fit my budget.

Any other suggestions people may offer would be appreciated. Especially if you have owned both the GT and standard 5 series.

Also looked at the E63 6 series, but i think these are dating quick at the moment and value will drop.

I had a 530D and loved it once it was remapped. Something like this one that's within your budget (and has split rear seats).

Can't comment on the GT.

What did it remap too, and what was wrong with it before the map? As long as it feels as nippy as the Mrs' 125d i will be happy.

Remap of a Beemer TD gives more power, torque and fuel efficiency. From memory, about an extra 40 BHP and overall about 3 miles more per gallon.
 
So around the 290bhp mark very nice. Thanks for the reply. I wonder if many have owned a 530d gt. Bit of a hit and miss car really but it seems like eveyone who has owned one loved it.
