New Bridgestone S001

They look quite interesting.

They come in the staggered sizes needed for 18" 225/40 and 255/35...

They are not run-flat, but use an 'innovative insert' near the tyre bead to improve response and sharpness, so perhaps they might bring back the response sharpness of an RFT without the RFT's hunting/harsh ride... hmmmm.

They are not exactly cheap either, but I'm quite interested. They are OEM fitment on the F458 so must be pretty special!

An interesting alternative - few mile to go yet on my PS2s but will certainly have a look again when the time comes. Thanks for the link.

The S001's come out top in a new tyre test:

Looks like the PS2 is no longer the daddy, and I suppose everyone will be running out to get Hankook Evo (may be the VFM bet), Bridgestone S001 or Continental 5P tyres :poke:

I did see some new Continentals at the 'Ring on some AutoBild test cars (Skyline, M3, 911) and the name looked like 'ContiForceContact', but I haven't seen much marketing material about them yet and they may be a road-legal track tyre more than a high-performance summer tyre.
