New boy's plea for help - Seats replace or recover?

Firstly hi to everbody. I have recently purchased a Z4 roadster (2003), which is genrally in good condition. However the drivers side swab is badly worn (and it may be able to get it repaired) however, the middle of the seats have a grey check panel which I am not a big lover of)! So my big question is what are my options (i) am I liklely to get replacement seats either via the forum, ebay or breakers? (ii) it is possible to get them recovered reasonably (the trimming guy I spoke with didn't know if the covers where removable of glued on)?

I have a supplementary question as well - if I where to acquire replacement seats - can you replace with memory seats where the originals were manual - is there likely to be loom feeds there albeit not currently used?

I am sure many of you must have faced this dilema and solved it...would be interested to hear your thoughts and guidance please.

I have a spare pair of heated leather seats. Since you have a 2003 model all the wiring will be there already. I replaced my heated seats, with memory heated ones a few months ago. If you don't already have heated seats you will need to buy the module of switches which are above the ash tray (all one assembly). The fittment of new seats is so easy, plus you will find a few quid under your seats!!

I had my 2003 seats re-upholstered for about $1200 american. They ordered the seat covers and did the work. I don't think they were glued down, but I wasn't there when they did the work. He did replace the padding as well.

Thankas Chuck/Cool Z4 for such a quick response - this forum is amazing - I only asked the question a few minutes ago - and now I have chuck offering me seats . Chuck I would like to see I can acquire some memory seats if possible, so will come back to you. Out of interest what colur are your seats? I should of mentioned mine are BMW silver /grey.

They are black leather. In pretty good condition, car did 50k miles in with the seats so not much wear. They are in south Wales. Think your looking at around £350 for memory heated seats.
