New Audi TTS

Pretty good that Audi can get 310 BHP from a 2.0 litre engine :driving:

Shame about the looks though

It just looks like it always has but with a tiny bit of tweaking and I don't mind the looks to be honest but agree they do deliver really decent performance from a 4 pot turbo as my old Z4M/E92 M3 only did 0 to 60 in 4.8 seconds and when you consider their engines in capacity and BHP in comparison yet our TTS does it in 5.2 seconds and the new one is even quicker yet still offers pretty decent economy into the mix as well.

As a package it is pretty hard to beat for me and I never thought I would say that because a BMW is a far more involving drive and always will be but if you accept the TT for what it is then you cant go too far wrong in some ways.

I really like them and as LeeZ4MR says above you can't really go wrong with them as long as you're not expecting the ultimate in driver involvement. The Mk2 TTS is really quick with just a remap, this should be much quicker.

But it's only ever really the TTS that was the decent car to buy. Those who spend 55k plus on an RS, well that's just ridiculous. Dare I say it, you'd be better with a pre owned SLK 55 for the money,

But fundamentally, it's the looks that base an opinion as to whether you buy it or not. I guess we are all. Loyal to our own brands. Very few, apart from you Lee, would go form a BMW to Audi, but more so from Audi to BMW.

Generally, between BMW, Merc and Audi, BMW are always going to be the better cars to drive.

I agree Stark and the looks play the biggest part for my mrs to be fair and I am a pretty big BMW fan as I am on my 5th consecutive beemer because I just love the way they drive and feel but the TTS has surprised both of us and got under the skin a little and it does impress me with the performance they squeeze out of the 4 pot turbo.

My mrs has only drove my 330i twice and she drove it recently and straight away said she wants a BMW again next so that speaks volumes but the Audi has done a very good job for what it is and we have covered 62k miles in it now in 26 months and it has delivered well as a package we think.

I agree and our TT has a TDI badge on the back!! :o Cracking car goes well for an oil burner and to drive its fantastic. If a little numb or neutral. Anyone can feel like a racing driver and drive it fast.

Fingers crossed we get the TTS badge when we trade up. As i will have another no question. I had a MK1 it was ok the Mk2 is light years better. If the new one is still better then WOW.

Swmbo has an a4, 3.0 TDi and and has been on to me about a smaller car. I suggested a TT but she says she doesn't like them.

No pleasing them is there?

You can say that again and sometimes you just cant win!

She says she wants something smaller to drive but it has to be 4wd , auto, satnav !
Her current car has all the toys and it seems she wants the same on a new car. She says the TT is not a car for a lady of her age !!! But I tell her the zed is not really a car for and old bloke like me either.

Other than a little TT I don't know what else there is about?

The trouble is whatever she gets into now seems a bit down at heal after driving Merc then Audi.
She looked at a 1 series BMW X drive and started to spec it up - until the sales wallah realised it wasn't available in auto form. :(
