New alloy advise (pics added)

Just ordered my new alloys, 19x8.5 19x9.5 et35.
What size of spacer should I get for the rear?
Am I right in thinking 235/40/19 & 265/35/19 tyre sizes?

On a 19 most people would say you should be running 265/30 & 235/35 a la CSL which has the same width rims. You could if you like run a slightly taller profile for better ride comfort but similar diameter so 255/35 & 225/40.
Not sure re the spacers but I have et 22 on the rear that fits pretty nicely, so a 12mm might be good.
 
I'm running 19x8.5 and 19x9.5 with et35 and et37 with 235/35/19 front and 265/30/19 rear with no need for spacers, tyres just clear the arches.
With et35 I think you would have problems with spacers.

Yours isn't an ///M though Russ, so your rears stick out further.

You may have rubbing with 235/40,I did with 235/45 on 18s with an et35 wheel,I spaced my rears 15mm to offset the offset (if you get my drift) and used 40mm long wheel bolts. Here are the overall diameters-front 225/45 (18)=25.97",235/40(18)=25.4",225/40(19)=26.08",235/35(19)=25.47". Rear 255/40(18)=26.03",255/35(18)=25.02",255/35(19)=26.02",265/35(19)=26.3",255/30(19)=25.02",265/30(19)=25.25". So as you can see the overall diameters of the standard setup is about 26",once you go wider with lower offsets (especially front) you will have to take the aspect ratio down to match,the best match out of these would be fr 235/35 rear 265/30,but check with the tyre centre first.
 
I went for 235/35-19 & 265/35-19 which are the closest you can get to OE diameters.
CSL replicas so ET27 rear.
 
With that size you won't need spacers
Zm can take 25 to 35 if remember correctly

My rears are 27 with 255/30/19 mss
And fit no prob

Don't mean to be rude but whilst I have no doubt they'll fit (since they are narrower and thinner than normal), that is not the 'correct' size for a 9.5j 19" on these cars (well at least not how BMW did it). It should be either a 265/30 or a 255/35 when running any standard road tyre such as MPSS.

ETA: I'm basing this 'fact' on the actual fact that whilst BMW never offered a 19" option for the Z4M, they did on the e46M3. Their chassis are pretty much identical in many ways and the standard fitment 18" option for the M3 was identical to that of the Z4M. It therefore follows to me that had BMW offered a 19" option for the Z4M they would have replicated what they did for the M3. That is to say a standard 19" option of 255/35 rear and 225/40 at the front (which keeps rolling radius identical) or for the CSL a 265/30 rear and 235/35 front.

255/40-18
A rear 265/30-19 is 3% smaller than 255/40-18 while a 265/35-19 is 1% larger. So that's the closest to OEM diamater.
Works fine on mine, a bit more "grown up behaviour" and the speedo shows 150km/h at 147km/h. :)

The closest to OEM diameter and how they shod 'standard' m3s (remember they used the same size tyre on 18s as us) on a 19" option rim is a 255/35. That diameter and tyre width is identical between the 18 & 19" option, exactly as BMW would have intended I'd imagine.
Many people run a 265 section tyre for different reasons however most run a 265/30 rather than a /35 proile as far as I am aware. 265/35 could lead to rubbing issues if you were to lower the suspension I would have thought.?
 
Thanks for all the comments, my tyres arrived yesterday. I choose vredstein ultrac sorti in 235/35/19 & 265/35/19. The rears do look huge!
I'm thinking with Their et35 the rears would look better with a 10 or 12mm spacer?
I'm getting them fitted to the alloys next week but not to the car till the end of the month as I'm getting my calipers painted 1st.
 
Got the tyres on the alloys yesterday.
Their 19" Axe cs lites in satin black.
Got a great deal on a pair of part worn fronts (6mm)
Two rears are new from jungle tyres.
Not going on the car yet as I'm gonna paint my calipers first.


 
My post might be too late, but I run 5mm spacers all round with my CSLs and no spacers on my track wheels. Anything else leads to rubbing variously on the suspension uprights or arch liners. I can't recall the offsets of my track wheels I'm afraid.
When I used OEM wheels, I would run 12mm spacers all round with standard tyres sizes, but removed the rear spacers when running 265 width tyres on the OEM rear wheels.
