New 4 cylinder turbo engine. Still not sure!

does seem to be the way the world is headed. not necessarily a good thing when compared to our sixes though.
 
Bit of the sound here. Does sound like present the MINI Cooper S though!

Yeah seems that the 80s turbo era is back. I can think of a lot of performance hatches with turbo, and this seems to be spreading.

I have yet to experience the type of turbo power delivery of this new 4 pot. In the turbo cars I've driven they all boost up at 2.5k rpm., coming on full song at circa 3k rpm

This new BMW engine seems to boost up at 1.5k rpm

Now it may be a good engine, but not sure the appeal would be there for me. Under the bonnet of that Z4 it just doesn't look "right".

A bit like a flat chested Jordon! Pointless! :P

I tend not to drive round with my bonnet open find it a little distracting :D . I wonder if the engine will find its way into the Cooper S .
