Hi dudes, dont know if you remember from this thread but i've had problems with my car on Sunday's drive. At a point whenever i got past 6.5 thousand RPM the car would go into limp mode, i took the car in yesterday and they called me up this morning to tell me that the diagnostic says it's a faulty throttle actuator.

This bit here:

I tried http://www.bmminiparts.com/ to price it but they dont have it in stock so i've put in a quote request. Anyone else has any ideas as to where i can track one down in the EU? I can find one from the States at about 375 dollars but tax and shipping will be much higher. The price here in Cyprus is 780 euro for parts only.

Called Sopers and asked for Joe, told him i found his details from the guys on here and asked him for a quote, he told me 420 quid shipped. Which isnt bad.

Now i'm gonna check a couple of more leads and i'll update the thread. A buddy of mine with a CSL also had the same problem and he advised me to also consider changing the 2 throttle position sensors (there's one on the front of the engine block and another underneath the airbox attached to the throttle actuator, they are the same part).

Just ordered the part from Joe at the parts department of Soper of Lincoln BMW, 420 pounds shipped by DHL. Shipping is 1-2 work days and he says he'll have it tomorrow and will ship it the following day. So about another week till i'll have my car back.

420 pounds is about 470 euro which is 300 euro cheaper than what BMW CY told me they wanted.
