So I've got Falken Azenis fk453 255/40/r18 y99's at the rear and they are looking pretty slick about now... If you catch my drift...

Ok enough puns...

I found them just fine and they are cheap... But black circles says Hankook ventus has a better rating on dry and wet (and they are £2 cheaper at £162.49 inc fitting)

I know squat (of the "diddly" variety) when it comes to tyres, all I really care about is that they are grippy enough in most conditions, they last long enough, and they don't break the bank - or my back! ...so no run flats here :)

Can anyone share their expert opinions?
 
ive had Hankook Ventus on various vehicles & rate them above Falken's . I would have them again with no worries on grip , noise or wear rate :thumbsup:
 
Run flats aren't an option on the ///M anyway. I've got 452's on mine as that's what came on the wheels and they seem fine.

I also have hankook ventos V12's on my one series as that's all I could get in non run flat at the time. Again been good and seem to be lasting.
 
Michelin Pilot Supersports/Goodyear Eagle F1 Assy 2/Conti Sport Contact 5.

Any of those will be leagues ahead of the stuff you've mentioned, no point scrimping on one of the most important aspects of running a car.
My experience of the MPSS is that they last forever even with plenty of sideways action :wink:

I've got Michelin pss and they are the best tyre around.

Next set is conti sport 5 on another set of wheels due to size/availability

As suggested you can't go wrong with the three mentioned above
 
There's lots of chat about hankooks atm, likewise nankings on the uber budget end. you cant deny that the hankooks at £400 a set with similar characteristics as PSS isnt a bad idea even if 'they wont last as long'.

saying that, i run PSS :)

+1 If you're running a performance car, don't scrimp on the rubber
 
high end road tyres like PSS are great for all round reasons, but if you live in a predominately warm climate, a semi slick will improve you grip levels massively, they are only good in limited situations however, like dry grip... my budget semi slick Ns-2r had more dry grip than the PSS could ever wish to command and also could deal with heat 10x better, the road compound is perfect between road and track use. But they are CHEAP were talking 550 quid for a set of 4!

however they are noisy, don't last long and and shite in anything other than dry weather.
