Need help trouble shooting!

Hi everyone, so I could use some help & advice please. I just installed supersprint headers and exhaust to my 2007 z4 3.0si coupe yesterday but I also had to install a new starter since I had problems with it. I have everything done now. I went to start it and it took a little bit to start but it did start & seems to run ok I didn’t drive it anywhere though. As I was about to back it out of my garage I noticed my power steering wasn’t working or engaged plus a lot of the lights on my dash are on as well. My first thought was, I more than likely need a tune since new headers & exhaust. But the power steering problem doesn’t make sense. I’m not sure if it’s from the starter being changed or new headers. I checked everything over & didn’t see anything I forgot to do. Also when installing O2 sensors on new headers does it matter what header it goes to? I’m pretty sure I installed the O2 sensors to the correct headers They’re supposed to go to. Any info and help would be appreciated. I just want to get my car back up and running good again. Hoping you guys can help me figure this out.

Your battery could be knackered. A duff battery will cause slow starting (obviously) but also cause multiple electrical faults to be reported (therefore dashboard lights). It could also be your alternator if not enough power is going to the EPS, and this could also be the reason for a poorly charged battery.
Try charging your battery up first as a quick and cheap possible fix.

If you’ve managed to put the o2 sensors in back to front the DME is going to adjusting the air/fuel mix on the wrong cylinder bank. Alternatively could one of the sensors have failed during the move or not connected fully? The answer really is a code reader and see what errors it has.

As for the power steering there would be no logical connection with anything you have done. My only thought is whether you disconnected the battery while doing all of this. If you didn’t could a voltage spike have damaged the EPS module. It’s happened to me and I learnt the hard way unfortunately.

Ok so I was able to get my girl running properly. I went to a BMW dealership and bought the two bolts needed for the starter and I put them in and triple checked all the connections. It worked because my car started up with power steering and it started up right away no lights on my dash either. It does idle a little rough though but all in all everything seems to be good. Thanks for everyone’s info and help.
