Need help finding the colour of inside door handle trim

My left side door handle cover (on the inside) is kinda scratched and I want to replace it. I'm ordering some other OEM parts online so thought I'd find the door handle partnumber and add it to my order. After reading this old thread http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=5532 about different interior colours I'm not sure I'm able to find the right OEM number myself. Anyone who can help? My Z is a 2004 3.0 with Chrome line interior according to the VIN-decoder.

So far I've come across these OEM numbers: 51417063589, 51417042877, and 51418040695

BMW Direct on Amazon

These are the door pulls, the biggest part of plastic the trim on the door.

Or get the part numbers here... http://www.realoem.com/bmw/

I don't think they're the right colour.

I was able to find this on a German Z-forum. It supposedly shows the "perlglanzchrom" on the left and the chrom line interior on the right. 51418040695 is "perlglanzchrom".

The really shiny ones are found on the M only I believe. I had chrome line in my last (facelift) Z and they were not as shiny as my current ones. I have a set from a prefacelift that I got off a forum member, but they did not seem to match the trim in my last car so never fitted them. They're pretty much unmarked, just had to glue a couple of the clips. I have no use for them, so you're welcome to them for £20 plus postage... Think I paid £35 from memory. Of course theyre not chrome line, but maybe someone else will want them :D

Thanks but I really want to stick to the colour I already have, so either I'll live with the scratches or see if I can find a replacement somwhere...

Chromeline was an option on non standard Z4's

Yeah, but the M's are different, definitely - not chrome line.

Larsbjerregaard, want me to check the part numbers on the ones I have and post them up for you ?

Yes, just like my previous Z4 which wasnt chrome line either :poke:

Simple solution is to remove the one you have on the car as the part number is on the reverse.

This is what I did and took it to the dealer with me so no mistakes.
I was charged £14 + vat at stratstone Chesterfield.

That's weird. The shiny ones look nicer IMO.

Part numbers on mine are 7 042 877 and 7 042 877, both with the word PAINT after them. Which is also weird :?

Manufactured 09/03, so really early ones.

I realize much time has past since your post but I had similar question. I took my trim off and after a couple trials I found a perfect match. Lightly sand to remove scratches and use SEM Color Coat Paint #15253 Titanium Metallic. It's a perfect match. Holds up very well.
