i have full opts -nav in my Z, how strong is my xenon headlight?
is it a 6000 8000 or what?
i'm planning to get a brighter one
and do u know how much it costs to install new lightbulbs?

i might planning to get the 12000 one because i saw my friend's and its nice
my other friend said that if i get the 12000 one, the 'elegant' of my car will lost
what do u guys think?

The number rating is for the temperature, or color, not the brightness of the xenon bulbs. A 6k lamp will give off light that is white with a light tint of blue, 8k will appear very blue, and the 12k would be very purple. I agree that going to a 12k will not make your car look good at all, let the "ricers" add it to their cars along with all the neon.

This site will tell you all you ever wanted to know about auto head lights. http://www.danielsternlighting.com/

I put 6000k bulbs in my Z4M, and would not want to go any higher. They give off a very nice white/blue light. I had 8000K in my old car, and they were a bit too blue and too "ricey" for my liking. 12000k will look rediculous - you may as well add under-body neons for the finishing touch!

So as a comparison what number rating are the standard bulbs, secondly i have seen replacements with a higher rating at http://www.ssdd-motorsport.co.uk and they are very expensive, about £110 a pair from him, any pointers as to where else to get them in the UK..

Whats the best way to tell if you have Xenons....cause mine supposedly are but there isn't a blue tint to em at all.

have a look in the engine bay... there are yellow voltage warning signs on the xenons... alas not on mine, coz I dont have em

Hm.. OK, do you think installing the under-body lights will be easy?
I have the lights with me and I don't want to take it to the autoworks at my place because they never be on time
Is there any specific wires or other things to connect to the lights?
How to make the under-body lights come up ONLY if i open/close the door?

Standard are most likely 4700k.

http://www.hids4u.co.uk sorted me out a pair of 6000k bulbs for about £70 IIRC...

Stickers, as said before
No manual adjuster to raise/lower the headlight
a few second delay between switching them on and reaching full power
the very obvious lens to focus the beam, that looks black from some angles
oh - and a very distinctive white light that at night is totally different to halogen

You'll know if you have them

kk, i'll check sometime later. Tanks. Dummy me for not thinking to look on the lights. Reckon that's my blond moment for the month.
