Need Brake Discs and Pads

Hi, I need to replace my front Brake Discs and Pads (2003 2.5 Roadster). Does anyone know of a good place to get them from? And also any opinions on what brands to go for?
Thanks....

its a really easy job to do yourself, there are a couple of threads which mention oem suppliers. I will be re-placing the back set at some point, i would do a how too but without a garage its a bit chilly to be doing on the drive at this time of the year..

Hi, Eurocarparts. Textar Disc; same as supplied by BMW-
See here, with 25% discount on brakes currently.

I've just had new rear discs and pads all round.....mintex pads were really reasonable and I was going for Brembo disc as they were surprisingly affordable but as it turned out the Brembo's were out of stock so the store priced matched more expensive Bosch ones for me :D Think these might be OEM

You will also need 2 break sensors (£12 each)

Discs for rear were £83.....but fronts are cheaper. Front mintex pads were only £15 and rears £17....which I thought was cheap. Got the lot from LK Performance in Cleckheaton, Bradford....google them....really helpful.

I also refurbed the calipers with the correct calipers paint (silver) and with the new discs they look awsome through the spokes of my 108's.

Is Textar what BMW use then? Discs and Pads?

I recently posted a similar question and will be going for Eurocarparts Textar front discs at about £60 pair and Textar epads which are the new low dust ceramic type about £60 set. They apparently offer similar stopping power and feel to OE but with much less dust (a lot of which is disc material).

According to a write up I found the Textar group make a lot of OE for BMW and many others but and ANY replacement pad has to perform within 15% better or worse than standard to be called original standard.

Thanks for the advice Ewazix. Can you let me know how you get on with the Textars when you get them?
I was going to go for the MTEC ones, they do a full set of front and rear discs and pads for £176 which seems like a great deal and other members have used them before and appear to be happy:

But I could be persuaded to maybe go for the Textar like you...

If your car is a 2003 2.5i or SE the disc set you have linked to is the wrong one (it's for the 2003 3.0 and later 2.5si) looking at their pages they do a set for our model, as well as options for drilled and or slotted but I doubt there is a benefit on a road spec 2.5 - I hope to get my Textar outfit in a couple of weeks time, I'll update on how it goes.

Dont forget to paint the disc hubs before you fit them. Not a good look when they go rusty in a few months time.

High temp paint. All sorts available from, erm everywhere. Silver is oem it looks very smart if you go with black.

Silver in this thread... http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=7797&hilit=brakes&start=15
