Need an M ..... Seat covers thoughts

Hi

I'm new here, looking to buy a Z4M Roadster in black or Blue or even red. However having been let down on one am looking around. Does anyone know how easy and what the price is to recover seats and door card into black as I'm not sure I fancy red but there are some good cars around with red leather.

Unless anyone has a <20,000 mile car going for sensible money. Only necessities is heated seats and a very tidy car.

Cheers

James

You would sell the red seats in a flash as they are rather desirable ...

So it's not just me then!

I've been on the lookout for a nice black or dark grey Coupe but so many of them have red leather which does absolutely nothing for me personally, however 'desirable' it's supposed to be.

In terms of black cars and desirability, is there an accepted hierarchy (based on option cost when new?) among the variants?

Only Sapphire seems to be properly black. Ruby is obviously so called for a reason and Carbon seems to have a blue tint. Sapphire with Champagne hide and either carbon structure or piano dash would be my ideal, I think.

You could expect to swap out your entire interior like for like for like for a black ones in and instant and almost certainly command a premium for the red. Fact that less were produced and more are deisred gives you that margin.

Remember though to swap for exact ///M to ///M to retain to logos and also take the door cards across too for colour match and leather grain.

Add in any other requirements such as heating pads and the swap al little more challenging, but I'm sure you'd get a taker.

I'm pretty sure not all M's have logo's in the headrests, infact I've seen more without them than with. :?

Then I defer to your greater wisdom....

Key point is it's entirely doable and there will be takers out there, nut find the right swap.

Greater wisdom  If I was wiser I would be in a similar career to yours

I'd love to know why some do have M embossed and others don't. Individual option? Better leather specced? Anyone know?

Standard colours have M logo, from the individual range they do not as far as I know.
