Nearly the end of IMmie :o

Had a very similar situation 2 weeks ago.Guy in a beat up old Mondeo nearly rear ended me,the scary thing was i could see it coming but was unable to move out the way.Fortunately he stopped in time but with a big screech of tyres and couldnt see his headlights or front grill in my mirror.
To be fair to the guy he did give me a an apologetic sorry and a wave 8) :) .

You're not supposed to park facing against the traffic direction. Seems to be generally ignored where I live.

Glad it all turned out OK for you and IMmie

Woots would have been OK if he was in a marked bay according to the highway code:

'Use off-street parking areas, or bays marked out with white lines on the road as parking places, wherever possible. If you have to stop on the roadside do not park facing against the traffic flow'

&

'You MUST NOT park on a road at night facing against the direction of the traffic flow unless in a recognised parking space.'

Correction: I'm assuming his parking space was marked.
