This is my first time at this site and I would like to ask for help
I have a 2003 z4 that the navigation system is not fliping open, seems that it want to do it but it does not I flip it up by hand and now it open at the seems. Does anybody knows how to fix it.

is this quite a well know problem then? do the gears get munched or something?

does this affect E89s with nav as well?

The screen works perfect with the navigation and also with the radio stations, etc. The problem is when you start the car it try to flip open but it does not like use to do before.
 
The stepper motor seems to fail on them. I've looked in the past at trying to source the motor, but to no avail.
