Does anyone know where I can find a navigation manual online? I have just picked up a new Z4 today (only 2 weeks after selling my last one!) with nav, and it has manuals for everything bar this! I have only had a little play so far but it doesn't seem very user friendly so a manual could help!

Thanks for that link, I did find that thread earlier but as far as I can see the only manual related to the navigation if for retro-fitting it, and doesn't include operating instructions. Maybe the best way to learn is just to keep playing around with it!

I have to disagree with you there! I love the navigation in my Z4, always gets me to my destination with no problems, easy to use when you get used to it and much sleeker than a TomTom stuck to the windshield.
James, if you haven't already make sure you update the firmware and get the latest map disc. Stealers will charge an arm and a leg for the pleasure but if you are handy with a computer/Internet you can DIY in a "cough" less than legal manner...

i find very easy to use, whit custom software and new maps which allows to search by post code it's as good as any other satnav. I always switch to half screen mode so i could see the map and directions at the same time .

Any advice on the best custom software to run, not seen any mentioned in the Nav section.
Custom firmware doesn't add a lot. Night colours etc. Some "after market" maps add UK postcodes as a POI database. Mines stock v32 and is blisteringly fast. The only thing that more modern units have is full postcode search out of the box and better graphics.
it's not a game where graphics takes a big part, it's only satnav which helps drive from A to B . And the postcode search makes all the different between stock and modified software .i'm also have version of maps whit camera alerts ,but only works in europe as nobody bothered to add uk .
I think I might have a camera POI database from a 2012 map Marius. You can have it if you want it. I'll just need to find my old disc. You can add it in using pimpmynav

Considering it's 10 year old technology it must have been the cat's ass in 2003 but I'm afraid that in comparison to today's offerings it's a fair bit worse than even the free iPhone app I have. If you miss a turning it doesn't re-calculate a 'back on track' route like most modern offerings, it bleats out the old do a 'U' turn advice for about 5 or 10 miles first. Eventually re-routes but the iPhone app does it way sooner every time.
Looks a lot better than it actually is. On the positive side I do like the fact that it's always there if you need it. I have custom software that gives the postcode search (although my own postcode apparently doesn't exist) and perspective view which as someone above said works well in split screen mode so you can see place names and directions alongside the map when navigating. It's a shame that the Intravee doesn't show song info on the right when in split screen mode with the map on the left.
