So I'm burning some cd's for the trip to HC and at the very moment I'm clicking and dragging some Evanescence they change it from a downloadable song w/monthly subscription to a lousy 30 second teaser - what a crock of shiit. Now I gotta pay more to get it on my MP3 player, what a load of crap :x

They did it with Metallica too, one of my favorite bands...well, next to Queen that is. That Limewire site sucks too, I don't have time to navigate all that crap so I pay....grrrr . :soapbox:

Had my first account in the early 90's, but everything is still quite available and free (if you don't count the monthly fee for large d/l limits). Do enjoy having items not yet released

It is still amazing after all these years, that most users of the internet have never heard of usenet/newsgroups :idunno:

Gomusic.ru is russian based music store that sells DRM-free mp3s at $0.19 each. I used to download from them when their price was $0.10, but now I've slowed down a bit on music downloading.

Great site, wide selection, with excellent birates. If you don't like the hassle of subscriptions and DRM, give this site a try. Only downside is that it sometimes takes a while for the latest hits to reach their store, but at $0.19, it's 5x cheaper than itunes.

Remember the early days of Napster -- back in '98? My music library was born through Napster. Now look at what's become of it.

Oh, y'all think I am going to give away the secrets to getting music and software for free????

Send me $19.95 for this free booklet on "How to use the internet to find the Holy Grail", and you too, shall be totally amazed at how quick I emptied your account!

Usenet existed long before (Al Gore's  ) internet.

If anyone really wants to know about newsgroups and you ARE computer/internet savvy, feel free to ask via PM and I will show you the way 8) This is an offer for people that are truly interested in Usenet, and all others will be dealt with harshly!!
The explanations dealing with how to access/use Newsgroups for a regular 'net user can be very tedious(!), and I do not have the time, or patience, to deal with a newcomer to the 'net in a forum atmosphere. 'Nuff said!

Well good Lord, why don't you just :brucelee:....I'm scared now  Think I'll just keep paying, when I get my aux installed this week (hopefully), I'll just plug in my MP3. Likewise, I don't have time to learn all that computer geek stuff, it can get really aggravating for both parties involved.
