Hi everyone was thinking how many name their cars :? yep I know its sad
these have been ours Bmw x5 Daisy - Merc 320 clk Katy - Bmw z4 3.0i Janet - Land Rover disco 3 Mabel - Bmw z4 3.0i Lynn, mostly from the first place we put in the sat nav.
Just ordered my wife's new van on motabilty a Renault Trafic with lift so have no idea what that might be called so far because its black with dark windows the nephews are calling it the A Team

The wifes is Paris the Yaris
The L200 pick up is Yeti
The Z4 is Geordie cos we bought him from near Newcastle
You are right, it is a bit sad

When I ordered my zed there was a long thread on here about what I should call it, with a slant on the colour.

But.....it's only a car so it just gets called, 'the zed'.
My Freelander often gets called, 'the bus'.

Mine is called the Black pearl after the great Rugby league legend Ellery Hanley who had that nick name when he played in Australia :D

My daughter does, but I don't, nor is it gendered. I think when a car gets older they seem to obtain a personality and then you name them, new cars are inert they just work so you rarely get to name calling.

 so true

I don't name mine, it is simply the Z ; my wife christened it Pablo

Always wanted to name a vehicle and had my chance with my Triumph Daytona 1200 motorcycle. It was called 'Beaufighter' and I had CADCAM stickers made and fitted - loved it! :D

My zed is not yet named. Will it be? I'm not sure.

My VW Touran is referred to at work as the 'Tourette' which is a bit of an insult to such a useful, obliging, mild mannered and economical vehicle.
