Hi,

So I know when I had the Sump oil gasket done it required new alloy bolts, all guildes online seem to use the bolts again on these items, do they need to be replaced?

11428637821 Gasket
11428637820 Gasket

Bolts, how many of each if these need to be replaced?
11427540759
11427540763
11427540758
11427543327
2 x 07119905591

Thought if im having the above done, would it be worth doing the below

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/395664254578?_skw=bme+coolant+flange+n52&itmmeta=01JJRX7YZTCAC75Q79XWRY0E3V&hash=item5c1f6d6672:g:NPIAAOSwMM5m3qK9&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAAA0HoV3kP08IDx%2BKZ9MfhVJKmt%2FW4t7hIy7wJqWLAA%2FiUPiaIAddE9w%2F6jxU5xI%2FFc0JghDQXze%2Fksgjeu%2FpLFnfPCcC0YEtZEsKGnlOk1p7fFK6QdbJKxKAIdGfNraBZ4u3OhZiDGrvAOcE0MWQaTgKSUFWqH3qDrclwp%2FuDnywZKT6A7YZ%2B9yMMa5CzjZ1k7e%2FUO4J7bn4OXPVGsWMgjIEZkEc5c6u%2FnpFzK589%2B4ZmoWf%2B1H7BkGf7u4%2FlTUJg8BcaY3SVv%2FlshSAQw9aTOCJQ%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR4jwn52WZQ

There seems to be allot of variations in the above, just curious how common the plastic ones are at failing?

Would a spring band hose clamp be better then a jubilee clip and what size would be needed?

Also I should look at changing the serpentine belt 11287628651, but what about the tensioner / pull and bits?

It would be best if you can confirm N52 engine - but that would seem true if your sump required aluminum bolts.

Oil filter housing gasket and oil cooler gasket bolts are steel and the answer is that reuse is okay.

Your link to the cooling hose with the plastic flange for two bolts - by all means change it out. Either use a new hose with aluminum flange, or the flange that you linked. The jubilee clamp should be fine - and it avoids the question of exactly which spring clamp. The old bolts can be reused for this flange as well.

Changing belt, tensioner, and idler pulley are things that I usually do all at the same time. On that topic, check out RealOEM, with your own VIN . Notice that the bolts for the tensioner and for the idler pulley are labelled "M11X65-AL" to indicate aluminum, not for reuse.

Here's RealOEM for my car: https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showparts?id=DU53-USA-05-2006-E86-BMW-Z4_30si&diagId=11_3740#11287628651

Cheers, the real oem is same spec as mine "Z4 E86 Z4 3.0si" mines 2007

The engine is the N52 with black plastic top, and sump is the steel one with alloy bolts, its a manual if that helps determine the engine better

Thanks for info, for the

belt, tensioner, and idler pulley, bolt

Why does the idler no longer seem to be listed on part numbers?

The bolt and bits i dont mind BMW if the prices are reasonable but if there not what brand should they be?

My E86 is a silver top (2006 - one year only). Check your car, to confirm that yours has the idler pulley, because there are apparently some variations. I owned a 2008 E88 (128i convertible) with a black top N52, purchased used. The PO had most maintenance done at a BMW dealer ("main dealer") - the maintenance record included "serpentine belt kit". I found that the belt and tensioner were indeed new, but the pulley was not, and the bearing was dry. I show the info for my pulley below, but be sure 1) you have an idler pulley and 2) you have the correct belt for your car's configuration. My pulley came with a bolt and washer, so no concern about reusing a bolt.

The idler pulley I installed is this (from a US vendor FCP Euro):
Details - SKU: INA-5320512100 BMW: 11287535860 Mfg Nos. : 5320512100, FP05121
FCP Euro ID: 120678
GTIN / UPC: 0670774207594 Made in: France Quality: OE

cheers looked up, it says engine is n52b30, which links to the bellow and its greyed out, i have just read online if it has electronic power stearing then there is no pulley :)

That's interesting - and your are absolutely correct ! I went and looked harder at my records: I ordered the pulley for my E86, but its' still in my parts bin, never installed  !!

Because my 128i with hydraulic PS needed the pulley, but the BMW dealer hadn't replaced it, I went out of my way to have the pulley when I did cooling system refresh . . . . and the Zed didn't need the pulley !

Sorry for the confusion.
