I was there all day on 31st May, there was only 8 of us so got plenty of track time and it allowed for faster runs the 2nd, 3rd etc time round as we didn't have long to wait.

nice.

your car is very very low... traction seems to be limited also.

I know it always seems a lot slower when you watch the video's back. I need a camera mounted on back really. As its only a sprint course you mainly stay in 2nd at high revs lots. There's lots of adverse camber its quite demanding for such a short track really. No LSD doesn't help either on my standard Z4R. All the mx5's there had LSD, they corner real quick. This was my last run of the day I was getting tired so cut the day short. You start making mistakes braking to late missing the turn in's and almost running off. Its great fun up until a certain point. I see why they all had cheap mx5's easy to repair, cheap parts etc. You need to have a spare car for track really not your daily like mine. A guy did turn up in a Ferrari 458 last time so I suppose if you can afford to crash it why not it is a lot of fun

I've had 3 of the cars in your last pic, z3 2.2 sport/ rx8 231 hi power & a lotus Elise s2, all cars were great to own-especially the Mazda & lotus :driving:
Rob

yeah the lads that im in the group with are mainly mazda boys they really praise the RX8's suppose to be really good track cars. Id love a lotus they ain't cheap though even on old ones

There are a few decent S1's going for around £10k but they don't hang around long. I paid £15k for my S2 111s 4 years ago and it's still worth that today as I haven't put many miles on it. I use it less these days so it may be for sale now I have GT86 also.

low .. not slow... think you did just fine...

this is the very track where i held my class lead for quite a while, its really not an easy place to navigate quickly and takes REAL skill.... you basically feel on the limit 100% of the time, its very unnerving.

hahaha my bad terrible reading just clocked low not slow.........lol

was how I bought it I would get coilovers but not sure to keep it yet its fun but there a lot other bmw that are too fancy a e46 m3 or 645i next

Yeah there's moments when your natural driving habit is to go into 3rd gear. Someone sent me a video of their 3.0si on same track and they literally stayed in 2nd all the way around which is what i'll do next time. There's parts were u need 3rd but then another corner comes so your off the acceleration again. The middle cross section towards top hairpin feels like that I kept having to drop back down to 2nd. I was told only the straight is 3rd gear really just feels like you abusing the car leaving it in 2nd.....lol

This was the 3.0si lap

Due to gearing I do the whole track in 2nd apart from the start and final straight. It's a good place for beginners as you can go as fast or slow as you like and pretty hard to do any damage unless your really pushing it. I had a small off as I took too much speed through the cross over then tried to take a wider line as you come back up the track only to find there isn't much grip on the outside.

curb is not a place id want to have an off.... their are loads of placed you can damage your car... the mole hill, the cross over leads directly into a tree, those soft barriers you see will rip bumpers off with ease, before that you hit the middle grass section which is basically a ditch, I've seen bent chassis on cars getting the molehill wrong.
