My Z4 is going in for it's front end respray today!

Little bit nervous, but I'm hopeful of good results. Can't wait to have it back! Should have it back at the weekend or early next week.

They're respraying the bumper and the bonnet as a garage that had sold it previously had done a rubbish job covering stone chips before. It's flaking off, so I've asked the paintshop to rub it down, respray and blend into the wings.

I'm also going to ask them to remove the lower grille, BMW badge, kidney grilles and screenwasher nozzles for a proper job.

Last time I had a car painted was probably 10 years ago, my second car, a 1991 Mini Cooper. It came out looking beautiful! I'll be sure to post up photos next week when I get it back.

Nuffield Accident Repair in Poole, recommendation from a friend. Yeah, they've quoted a good price, much cheaper than most other places so we'll see how it transpires.

I decided to get them to paint the bonnet and blend into the wings as well though. Original quote was to just paint the bumper.

Hope all goes well, mine goes back for a third attempt,as still not right! :headbang: I guess I'm just unlucky

Well, it's dropped in. They didn't have many cars outside, they were all in the workshop, so I didn't get a chance to have a look round their previous work. Still, they seemed to know their stuff and BMWs, so that's good.

Can't wait for next week!

I've also had the front part of my titanium silver car resprayed once, very happy with the results. It's an easy enough colour to match if given to a competent shop.

It should be like new when you get it back :)

:D

It's getting detailed once it's out too.

Any one had venture shield type coating fitted to the front of their car? I'm considering it.

You are really spoiling the zed, looking forward to seeing the before and after pictures :)

Been told by the paintshop that it's been painted and polished and it looks really nice, but they've not had time to put it back together again yet. Got to wait until tomorrow. Oh well, not a problem as I won't be using it anyway, but I am eager to see how it looks!

Done for £425.

I've only checked it over this evening so need daylight really, but it looks like a really good job. Very pleased.

nice 1 dan . if it passes your inspection then that seems ok .
i paid £240 just for a front bumper removal & repaint on 6 series . would love the same on Z but think new discs&pads then wheel refurb is first

Yes I am pretty particular!! It has to be perfect. I've had a few sleepless nights about the condition of the bonnet and bumper!

The chap at the paint shop said the bonnet had been painted with something horrible. It was rough and the colour was stripy and slightly yellow! Looks beautiful now.

They flattened the bonnet and bumper, primed and painted and bonnet, bumper and blended into the wings. Also fitted a replacement fog light for me. Really good price I'd say.

Just a sneak peek whilst I was putting it to bed in the garage!
