its happenned a few times where ive turned the key and nothing has happened in the past. and on the next turn it starts. this happened yesterday and i had to get the AA man to it. he said the battery is charging from the altinator, and the battery check was ok.. (but between me and him it was goosed) it started first time from his batter jumper pack and i headed off to get a new battery. running it yesterday it was fine, started first time everytime after the new battery. but this morning it was back to the same problem. i turn the key and ignition is fine, try to turn it further to start it and nothing happens!! no clicking from solenoid, no turn over, absoluty nothing. has anyone ever had this or can help in anyway? its not driving me anywhere which driving me mad. lol. ive tried the spare key and same problem.
thanks to anyone that can help me.

UPDATE. so after reading through posts and watching vids online, i went out and did some checks. THE NEW BATTERY IS DEAD! WTF!? LOL i bought a new one yesterday and the AA guy told me my altinator was charging. i dont understand what could be draining the battery?

2 options - either the new battery is faulty (it happens) or you have something draining it. Usual way to find what is causing the drain is to fit an ammeter onto the battery and then remove fuses one by one noting how much current is used by each. Once you know which fuse/circuit you can then start looking at what is on that circuit and test each thing individually.

thanks matey, ive booked it in to go on a diagnostic this afternoon. i will report back the findings. :)

UPDATE. after trying to jump the car using a battery pack and it failing, i looked online at more vids etc.. for anyone having this problem in future, i tapped the starter motor with a hammer a few times and it fired into life. £58 lighter for the motor, but soon she will be back to normal running. :)

What would us 'mechanics' do without a big hammer?
