My Z is trying to ruin my life and bank balance ! HELP!

Hi All

Hopefully some of you guys can throw me some good news as my Z is testing me to my limits at the moment due to a spate of problems ...

Problem : 1

Seem to have a massive leak which is ending up under the passenger seat - It has soak through 2 entire rolls of paper towel in 8 hours ... me thinks this is not good .. Anyone have any suggestion as to what this might be ... :!:

Problem 2 :

Zenon head light seem to have somehting loose as you can see the top edge of the light shaking when driving and also seem to be dipped higher than usual .. but it's only the passenger side.. They start ok when you turn them on as in the mirror (or whatever it is) roatates and levels but then whilst driving there seems to be a problem ... And no it's not bumpy roads !!!

Problem 3 : When closing and opening the roof, when it locks into the windsreen frame it makes a loud clicking sound like something is slipping ...

All in all a complete nightmare !

Any guidance or ideas or ideally solutuons would be greatfully welcomed ...

the Xenon thing - sounds like maybe the aim control has gone wobly / come loose
this happened on my 350z and I needed a new vertical aim control unit.

I think a quick search on passenger leak will reveal the cause of problem number 1

and number 3? no idea from me I'm afraid... :?

when your roof closes does the noise continue if you keep your finger on the button? Or does it click for a few seconds and then stop?
my roof clicks for a few seconds and then it stops, Im sure this is normal!

I know how it feels when things keep going wrong so heres my input:

1) Suggest you check if the roof drainage channels to make sure what is getting in because it can't get anywhere else. How to on here somewhere.
2) My go up and down due to the self leveling but only on bumpy roads? Is the headlight secure or can you move it by pushing it?
3) Mine groans and clicks - but I've been told a bit of noise is normal when the mechanism is locking.

There are a couple of threads about the passenger side leak...its usually coming on over the top of the door sill near the front of the door.....I think CJ even got a pic of it leaking...its easily fixed from memory.

^^ agreed.. or a badly fitted windscreen sometimes.

I think the roof clicking is pretty correct too.. but if you want to put something on youtube we'll confirm it

Get it to a specialist for the light - if they're wobbling independantly something can't be right. You can still adjust Xenons, have a look and see if everything looks ok.

I wouldn't worry, none of these sound expensive, if a little time consuming.

Cheers for all the input guys ...

After further inspection I found the water was under the whole passenger side foot well right up to the front , i reckon i've soaked up at least 4 litres or so .. the whole carpet underneath is sodden.... even the foam ...

I must have a seriously big leak somewhere !

Looks like it might be coming through from the front... any ideas what seals may have failed ?????

I'm really not the person for this question - but the only break in the firewall I know of is for the sound generator for models that have it.
