Evening all (been lurking a bit)

Currently toying with my 3.0 Coupe sport... decided its time to treat it, so thinking about adding the following

BBS LM GT (what size and offset would be best?)
Strutbrace - thinking OEM
Coil-overs - looking for a much smoother ride than stock M suspension
Brakes - AP? or Stop Tech?
Short-shifter - AC Schnitzer... really don't like the notchy feel of the stock change, would this improve it?
K&N Panel filter and drilled air-box... or is that a bit pikie?

Cheers - all feedback more than welcome!

Isn't the Strut brace from RoadsterSolutions OEM? Goes for $399.00

Since you're worried about ride comfort, go with 18". I'd love to tell you that my 19" BBS RGR's ride the same as 18" wheels just so I could justify spending $4400 for the set-up, but the ride comfort just isn't the same, and I'm in the process of searching for a set of 18" wheels to replace them.

TCKline will give you the best ride comfort and also the best handling performance out of any kit below $3k USD. I think the kit costs around $2k or so. I had some issues with the TCK kit on my Z4M because both the car and the kit were so new and there were issues that needed to be ironed out. But the TCKline coilover kit is very proven for the E46 M3 and the regular Z4. If handling performance isn't at the top of your list, the Bilstein PSS9 will give you pretty good ride comfort (though not as good as the TCK) at a slightly cheaper price. If you don't absolutely need coilovers, go with the EIbach springs and Koni strut/shock set-up. Avoid H&R's.

Get the OEM ZHP weighted short-shift knob. It costs about $60 from Tischer BMW, and it makes a world of difference in shifting.

Don't bother with K&N; it's junk. If you want a good CAI set-up - for the Z4 - get Dinan. Their CAI kit (front air-duct & air-box) for the Z4 is a piece of art and worth the prices. If you just want air-filter that'll improve throttle response and makes the intake sound a little better, get Streamline (I think they're now called Helene?).

Cheers for all the input - so that gear knob makes that much of a difference? Can you change quicker too?

Will check out the TCKline coilovers

Figured if I went for 19"s - I could use them on an M3 or 911 (etc) once the Coupes days are numbered - but like you say, think they'd really compromise the ride

Just got my ticket package for Le Mans.. woohoo :driving:
