Just thought I'd say hello and post a picture of the car I bought around three weeks ago

I've spent a long time agonising over what to get. I was originally very tempted by the Honda S2000 and really enjoyed the test drives I had in it. But then thought, wait a minute, the Z4 3.0 has a more powerful engine, is more economical, costs less to tax and insure and has something I've always wanted - a gorgeous straight six engine.
After driving one of those beauties I was never able to look at the Honda in quite the same way.
But I lost all sense of reason when I was standing behind a Z4MC at a BMW dealers and the saleslady started it from cold. I've seen posts on here that suggest once someone has driven an ///M there's no going back. Well, I was hooked even before I sat in ther car - the sound of that engine on a cold start was just spine tingling.
I missed the chance of buying that car but, after a bit of a search, found one that had what I wanted and took the hammer to my piggy-bank.
I can't justify buying it, or argue its case over the dramatically quick Z4 3.0 SE coupe I was so keen on. But I'm absolutely delighted with the ///M. The grip, turn-in, balance, steering and are big plus points. It feels solid and reassuringly bulky at slow(ish) speeds and around town, but just seems to shrink around you when you open it up. Contrary to expectations I think it's comfortable and relaxed when doing long motorway journeys and, exactly as expected, it's an invigorating challenge to hurl down a favourite A or B road.
It's the most involving of cars I've driven regardless of the type of journey - I even don't mind being stuck in slow moving traffic as much as I used to. I've now more than doubled the 700 miles the car had on it when I bought it (mainly through driving it for the sake of it and/or going the long way round) and have enjoyed every minute more than I thought I would. Hell, I even don't mind paying £40 or so every few days to feed the monster - although I might need to start exercising a bit of restraint soon.
Sorry about the long first post but just wanted to say how impressed I am with the Z4 in all the guises I've driven. Happy motoring everyone
