My Puppy!

All play and interaction should stop when a puppy starts mouthing. Turn away, fold your arms and ignore them until they stop. Once they do, play can resume.

If teething is an issue then an ice cube can help soothe saw gums as well as a kong stuffed with peanut butter or paste and put in the freezer. This helps relieve boredom as well as your chair legs and shoes getting attached.

How cute are GSD pups!

Ours is now 9 months old, but it only seems like last month she was a baby pup. As soon as he/she is allowed out don't bother with walks - take him/her to school gates, shopping places, pubs, to see sheep and horses etc. In other words, you cannot over socialise them. I think that this is especially important with GSDs who can be "over-protective" when they encounter things that spook them, (Sorry if I sound patronising, but this is so important.)

Keep us posted on his/her progress and good luck with the toilet training. The unexpected puddles (and worse) are soon forgotten! And you have to tell us his/her name!
