Fantastic car, I'm keeping an eye on GT2 prices at the moment, and hope to have one by the end of the year. How does it compare to the M?
It's not really fair to compare the GT2 to the M Coupe only because one is officially a "supercar" with a price to match, and the other is a really awesome car with a relatively "normal" price tag. Here is what I have noticed so far:
Comfort: The GT2 seats are more comfortable, the M Coupe seats are more fun. The GT2 seating position is very low and both the wheel and shifter are lower with respect to the floor than the M Coupe. In the M Coupe you feel as if you are "wearing" the car, which is fantastic. In the GT2 you feel like the hood ornament on the space shuttle-when you step on the accelerator, you know you are about to get launched into orbit! That's fun too!
Performance: Here, strictly talking numbers, there is a huge divide. The GT2 is a beast. The amount of torque is phenomenal. I've had it in 4th gear at 100 MPH and a touch of the accelerator knocks your head back! Others have told me that it pulls all the way to 190 MPH. I believe it. The M Coupe just does not have the same type of power. However, The M Coupe is a much easier car to drive. It's very controllable and gives the driver confidence. You all know how great an experience the Z4M is as a sports car. Sometimes I feel I can go faster in my MC because I know how to drive it. The MC is like the beautiful girl next door, easy to get along with and a lot of fun in the sack. The GT2 is like dating Angelina Jolie, just to be with her is amazing, until she turns into one of her assassin movie characters and things get ugly real quick. Whenever you drive it, you have to be on your guard. So in that respect it's not as much fun as he M Coupe for a non-professional driver like me. I bet, though, that an experienced race driver could experience Nirvana in a GT2.
