Looks good time well spent

I also spent 5 hours on mine today. Not in the sunshine like you
I was hiding from the wind and rain in the garage (Man Cave).

I want to to do 2 improvements straight up. The dirty, stained shifter knob and the headlights. I read about the toothpaste fix for the lights and will be trying it out shortly.
As for the shift knob, I am thinking about dying it the same color as the wood on the dash. Just the top half, just the part that your hand grabs. I think it would carry the wood grain color from the dash into the car properly. What do you guys think?

Roof down, straddle the tunnel, grab Knob with both hands and pull straight up.
Don't pull at an angle and it should come off quite easy.
Go steady some have ended up with a bloody nose :D

5 hours very well spent. Looks great

Merlot is about the only colour I would consider as an alternative to black. I had a chance to get an Alpina in Merlot a couple of years' ago - still not sure it was a great decision to let it go.

I'm sure that you and Mrs Greyspeedr will have a great time - enjoy. :)

Merlot isn't one of my favourite colours but you've made a good job of that

Presume it had a beige interior? AFAIAA There was only one RHD RS in merlot, #133, so you could have had a unicorn

Looks great.. but get that stealership sticker off the tail! That looks incredibly obnoxious. They should be paying you about $500/month for posting that billboard.

Yes it did have a beige interior. Was for sale at James Paul. Might have been more than a couple of years ago.

So you've helped me make up my mind - it was a bad decision not to buy that Alpina. :x
