For some time now I've been promising my old Mum that I will spend some time and try to breathe some life back into the looks of her treasured Avus Blue '00/X reg 318ti Sport Compact. Well its been in and out of my garage for about ten days now and it's finally done and to say I'm pleased with the results is somewhat of an understatement. My Mum is absolutely delighted ! :D

For those that are interested on the paintwork I used my old Sealey rotary polisher, various Chemical Guys Hex-Logic Pads, Poorboys World SSR 1, 2, 2.5 and 3, Poorboys Blackhole Glaze and Nattys Black Pastewax. All topped off with 2 coats of Collinite 845.
On the wheels Sonax Full Effect, AG SRP, Poorboys Wheel Sealant and AG Pro Rubber Plus Cleaner. All plastic trim and wheel arch liners etc dressed with AG Pro Super Sheen.
I'm fitting new discs/pads soon and then I'll paint the rusty calipers to complete the transformation. Well you have to look after your Mum don't you ?

Great work, nice looking car,
if you cna take some before and after brake pics pls.

Thanks for the comments fellas. I know...doh!...I did forget to take any 'before' photos. Suffice to say my Mum is 73 and calls in at the local hand car wash every few weeks and the car is 'squeezed' into her garage every night :( so the paint was very lacklustre with a fair few light scratches and lots of light/medium swirls. The last time I detailed it was probably 2 years back so I will definitely try to do it at least annually from now on. I have got a few more photos I will post later.

Great job OP!

I do like a Compact, and that one looks fantastic.
