These are minging as you can see, probably never had a proper clean in their 9 year life!

They will require some elbow grease to begin using some Autosol, but once you get them spot they will just a need quick clean with Autosol to keep them in tip top condition.

Will do. The main body sections are looking much better already. The tips and the lip on the inside is proving much harder though, the deposits are really stuck hard. Think I'm going to need some mechanical assistance with those bits, particularly difficult as I have a dodgy right elbow - polishing with left hand isn't easy :(

They will look 1000% better after even a relatively small amount of effort. Some of the chrome has come off mine, especially round the inside lip where the exhaust deposits have obviously been left to fester for ages by previous owners. Thinking about getting mine re-chromed actually, but can't find anywhere nearby.

As Swiftly says, the effort will be worth it as they will just wipe clean for ages once you've done it the first time. When my car is clean I often just give them a wipe with an old rag when I get home from a drive to keep them shiny

looks like some of the chrome has peeled off.
Yeah I thought that when they were on the car, but they are fine underneath the grime and tar spots. Still struggling with the tips and the lip on the inside, I see tool station near me sell a soft cone shape polisher for a drill, I think that should help shift it. Been using T-cut metal polish, actually really impressed with it :-)

Get your fingers behind the ends, pull and wiggle hard. There are about four 'springs' creating pressure, and another one beck to front the kind of clips into a notch in the bottom of the tailpipe itself. Not difficult

Make sure you line the backwards one up with the notch when you stick them back on obviously...

On mine (2003, 3.0) there were 2 small screws underneath

Thanks Bing - they're off. Whilst you go out and wash your car I'll clean my tips!

TrickyDicky, facelift 3.0s are obviously different. Great job by the way
