My last few days with Z4 Coupe

I have almost finalised the deal on my next car (E39 530i BMW Auth Used) and am awaiting the exchange next week. Will go out for a drive this weekend hopefully for one last time. I am positive I will miss my Z4 a lot once it is gone, have had it from new since Aug 2007.

As you can probably guess by my selection of next car that my interest in cars is quite varied. E39 when new was a bit too expensive for me and I never actually owned one even though it was one of my all time favourite cars. My local dealer had one in really good condition, being a main dealer it is more expensive than any e39s advertised on the web but it comes with 1 year warranty and I will still endup with £6.5K my way after trading in Z4. Not a great deal but I am hoping it will be a nice car to have for a couple of years, and then I will want a brand new 2 seater again :), as it seems I keep alternating between brand new and oldish cars.

I will still come here from time to time and follow the going ons at this forum. As this forum has been a great source of information and entertainment and I still am a fan of Z4's.

Cheers

Sounds a good plan,

What was the deal on the Z4 if you dont mind me asking. I think the Coupe is stunning wonder what the hit would have been.

PM me with figures if you want them off public view.

Hi PaulN,

I got 16000 for my Z4 and paid 9500 for 530i. Z4 was 3.0 Si Sports Coupe with auto transmission, heated sports electric seats in red colour, rear parking sensors, bluetooth, auto lights/wipers, individual paint (Ruby Black) and 22K miles on it.

530i has Auto transmission, parking sensors all around, blue tooth, sat nav/tv, cd changer, cruise control, auto wipers/lights, heated seats in sapphire black with dull yellow/black interior.

I realised the options that get used the most in my last car were bluetooth, parking sensors and heated seats. So think going forward I am always going to look for these 3 options.

Drove down to shops to get some milk, I am going to miss that screaming Si engine the most :(.

Cheers

Hi,

Thanks for that, Your car sounds sweet. I think if i ever sell the Z4 and stick with the same brand a Coupe would be my choice. Im changing the Boxster for a 997 this year though so it would be 2 soft tops to none.....

Enjoy your last weekend but treat the old girl well still.

Cheers

Hi,

997 is really nice, you can possibly go for a soft-top one?

Earlier I was looking for a a 987 boxster as replacement for my car but then thought 2.9 engine is out and it would be nice to go for it, and that made the switch over cost a bit high. Whenever I get to replacing a car I buy new I get quite stingy :), Z4 Coupe as much as I loved it cost me almost £20K in depreciation alone for about 2 years 9 months and 22000 miles of ownership and that has put in a bit of a stingy mode :). Hopefully when it's time to buy my next car I will be feeling a bit better and would have saved enough to get a more exciting car, maybe keep 530 for comfy cruiser kind of driving.

Cheers
