No, this is not something you can fix with viagra!

Is it just mine, or is the horn the most pathetic sounding mouses fart ever?

Is there an easy mod to fix this or upgrade it? I am possibly the most inept person ever in the workshop, so will my lovely local dealer be the best solution? (£90 per hour, bargain. Not)

Help guys!

Thanks

E's dad.

I agree. The Z's horn is a little weak.

The e39 has a good horn. Actually it uses two, one with a lower frequency and one higher.

My first Toyota Tundra (year 2000) had a terrible horn. It sounded like a Corolla. So I transplanted in the low frequency e39 horn. Much better. For 2001 Toyota fixed that problem! :-)

Anyway, it should be really easy to transplant a horn from an 5-series to a z4. (I say that without actually comparing parts, or mounting points)

Maybe I'll try that mod this month.

What I really want is a horn that sounds like a tractor-trailer truck locking up its brakes and skidding towards you. You wanna get people's attention? Who's gonna ignore THAT! (Stock tip: be sure to buy shares in fruit-of-the-loom beforehand!)

I installed a 140db air horn on my old Yamaha R6 (motorcycle) and it really moved people out of my way. The damn thing sounded like a tugboat and showed other motorists I meant business. lol.

I've only had my Z4 for about a month now and still haven't used the horn. If it's inadequate you can be sure that it'll be taken care of :)

gosh, I kind of like mine just fine. I don't think it's that's wimpy. I mean, it pales in comparison to Engine 21's Whalen but, it works :idunno:

I really need to find the bmw club here and try to get hooked up. Question on that.
Is it worth it to actually register?

I probably won't simply because being military I follow enough dumb rules an regulations but I may change my mind.
