Next up was a HID kit, my last 2 cars have had Xenons and i missed having them on the Z4. So i ordered a http://www.hids4u.co.uk canbus 35watt 6000k kit and some LED side lamps. Great quality, fitting was a doddle. Here are a couple install pics and a picture of them on, but my camera struggles to capture the brlight light.
Whilst i was fitting the HID i took the fogs out as they were condensating. The crome reflector is fine so ive sealed them up. They are better but still getting a little condensation so im going to have another go at them. :x
With a few days off this week and some nice weather i made the most of it and gave the car a good clean. First off was a good wash and clay.....i dont think ive ever had clay pick up so many contaminents! After this was done the car was polished and waxed and then waxed again a few days later. Really pleased how it turned out, i cant recommened DODO Juice waxes and products enough, some pics....
UPDATE 29/07/2013
Well im coming into my 5th month of ownership now and im finding it hard to pick fault with the car. It drives lovely, i cant fault the handling even on the OEM Run-Flats, cheap insurance renewal and no different to my CTR to run. Very happy.
In this time i got bitten by the mod bug, something i never really thought would happen with this car seeing as ive been there before with other cars lol. But anyway after a little thought i took the plunge and ordered the Z4M front bumper and the bits to go with it. At first i thought i was mad spending that kind of money but im really pleased with it, the front end looks more aggressive now and no need to worry about those sodding fog lights condensating now.
A few pics...
Next up was a ZHP gearknob, i thought the oem version was a bit rubbish, no weight to it and just a cheap plastic finish.
This is much better, the weight certainly makes shifting feel smoother.
I recently replaced my exhaust tailpipes for a set of Machine Monkey tips. Big thanks to Mat, i wanted sizes different to his normal spec and he was more than happy to accommodate me. They look great and fitment was excellent...
In the last month or so ive wanted to make a few changes to the interior of my Z4, although the brushed metal is nice i love the individual piano black trim.
After sourcing the main dash and lcm part from ebay, in new condition i had no luck finding the centre console with the 2 holes. So i popped down to see a local spray shop who ive got to know quite well over the years with cars and they said it would be no problem to replicate the finish and of the dash on the center part.
Before....
After......
Im not a fan of the chrome line trim either, so i had the handle covers painted at the same time....
Finished off with a recent purchase of a Z4M Steering Wheel, i removed the multifunction as i can be bothered with the retrofit cable, i dont have NAV or phone so controls are limited to just stereo. Not really worth it imo, i bought the wheel because its fatter and feels great.
Some general photos, im no photographer lol...
I think this is pretty much it for my Z4 now, a new house is imminent and i know decorating is going to take its toll. A couple jobs ive got planned for the coming weeks are a caliper paint and a much needed engine bay clean as its a bit dusty.
At a later date, maybe next year when the house has settled down id like some new wheels and a slight suspension drop, but we shall see.
Thanks for looking, all comments welcome.
