MV2s to 106s to 398s

So, men collect wheels like women collect handbags. I tend to get wheels when i get a flat tyre, my Z4C came with MV2s on RFs, never been so glad to get a puncture, saw a Z4C in Germany on 17"106 turbines which i liked the look of and rather than get 1 new tyre i found some 106s with tyres 80 miles away for £150, tie me over till i get my next flat tyre. So last week a front is flat so get looking about, today i found some 398s with very good Michelin Pilot Sport 4s for the sum of £400, i asked the price and tried to look hard done by when he said 400, inside i was having a right knees up and only 25 miles away, couldn't get any better. Picked them up and set about fitting them, easy peasy, last turn of the last wheel nut...hang on a minute...255 on the front... :headbang:
soon rectified that and set about for a mooch up the M1 to Watford and back down the A41 as its got some nice roundabouts. Now i've got some MV2s and 106s looking for new homes.

398s look well but the tyres look quite baloony as they are f30 fitment so they went up a size in sidewall from previous generations. Must be a comfy ride!

Spot on... most comfy ride yet with this set up. MV2s tyres were rubbish and hard, literally bounced every where, no fun at all. 106s were just to tie me over. Didn't think the +5s would be too drastic but definitely leans into corners now and so much more fun too. Might burn these up at Bedford Autodrome soon and go back to bascis.

I like it - a thread for serial wheel buyers! I've bought 4 sets in the last 3 years. Not all for the Z4 though.

I love the turbines - just a shame they were never available as 18" rims. But your 398s look pretty similar, and the colour works well on your car.
