MV2 Alloy Size?

Hello I am looking to buy a set of MV2 alloys to replace the 108 style. The car is an 03 plate 3.0. Are the alloys the same size all round for 18" wheels?

For example will these fit?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/102-EXCHANGE-BMW-3-SERIES-E46-MV2-M-SPORT-4-X-18-ALLOY-WHEELS-GENUINE-/230982317826?pt=UK_CarParts_Acc_Wheels_tyres_Trims_Car_Rims_ET&hash=item35c79e7702

Thanks I read somewhere the rear alloys are wider than the front ones? so in that advert the alloys are associated with a BMW 3 series E46 type with ET of 47 and 50. Would that be a correct fitting for the Z4?

Can't remember the offset but def wider rears 8.5j and 8j iirc. Same as 108s.

Ps my e61 has mv2s too and they aren't staggered - offset is massive too (something like 10)

Hi..

OE, MV2s, are: 8" x 18" Fronts and 8.5" x 18" Rears..
They are the same offset and PCD and fit a BMW: 1 series; 3 series, a Z3 and the Z4 also, I believe..

If you come across a set and they are listed as: 8" x 18", front and rear, this can sometimes indicate, that they are replica rims, for example..
Buyer, BEWARE, if that's the case - IMHO.. :!:

Best of luck with the quest
Cheers.. Paul

Looking at the eBay Ad', it does quite clearly state that they are 'Split Offset' rims, that they are potentially offering to exchange for your own set of MV2's..

Good luck.. And let us know, how you get on please?

Cheers..

As I said they are exactly the same as 108s which are 8'' fronts et47 and 8.5'' rears et50. They are the correct fitting assuming the advert is accurate.

MV2s get a bit of bad press on here, but check out the pics of Marius' car before he fitted the 7-series rims (not to say that they don't look awesome as well, of course) to see how good they can look.

Spacers, lowering springs and a good clean help. You'll probably want to buy one of these too: http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/wheels-and-tyres/ez-detail-brush/prod_480.html :)

:D I already have one of those brushes! I know the design will keep me busy as I hate dirty alloys. It's very subjective alloy design and if it compliments the car or not, for me the MV2 design looks quite elegant. The 5 spoke 108's look dated and I don't like seeing a cars disc brakes and callipers unless they are seriously impressive ie Big!

Just confirmed with the exchange company in the link that they are happy to exchange one style for the other and am booked in for Wednesday. Just hope the car lives up to my expectations and the hunt for run flat replacement tyres starts now!

Suggestions?

Vred Sessantas get the thumbs up from me, but they are the only tyre I have used on the Z4 apart from the OEM RFTs.

wotnip says he has a spare set of MV2s - http://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=52030

Out of interest is handling to any extent detrimental if you run 8X18 all round with a 225X40 profile tyre?

I like the idea of keeping a full size spare with rubber at home in case of puncture and having two sized wheel/tyre combinations on the car upsets the odds.

Thanks Marius for the reply (and the MV2's look great), I'm on the verge of buying a new alloy tyre setup to replace the staggered 108's with run flats and the whole staggered thing seems like an expensive pain, would rather 4 all the same but was concerned if this would effect handling.
