Hey thanks very much all...!!

I’m just so amazed....you’d simply assume that’s it, get the undertaker rung....still can’t get my head around it...!

Mind you Adolf had a go at her too, she was on the searchlights outskirts of London WW2, got hit by some shrapnel, couldn’t have kids after that hence my late brother and I are adopted, but even that didn’t floor her...! Tough as old boots..!

It's heartening to hear such good news John. Long may she carry on.
My mother-in-law is 83, smoked like a chimney all her life, polishes off a bottle of sherry every three days or so, and still going strong.

But then I guess, if you want to preserve food you either smoke it or pickle it, so she should be more or less immortal!

Good news John, she must have had you young though, being 95 and you knocking around the 80 mark
Nah, he's a bit younger than that, only a bit though.
Sounds like mum is made of solid stuff John, all the best mate :)

As suspected my 95 yr old mum has tested positive for the virus in the care home she’s in along with 4 others, brought in by a carer who caught it who lives in Sheffield a few weeks ago we think who has now been away for a couple of weeks and is thankfully fine now. Mum had a chest infection last Thursday or so, Doc’s signed off anti bi’s straight away as she’s had a few before but didn’t respond as normal so a test taken and has been positive. Her sister has just turned 105 in Australia and is fine, mum smoked like a chimney for donkeys years, 60 a day and her lungs are clear..! A week in and she’s sitting up in bed chatting to carers with little problems, certainly no need for hospital as yet, which I’d assume won’t be needed as if she’s not gasping after a week I’m hoping it won’t get any worse. Just shows how it affects people in different ways. I always said it’d take a field cannon to drop mum....!

Unfortunately I doubt the others will be so lucky....but keeping fingers crossed..!
good news....she sounds like a tough old boot and this one aint gonna get her....

Good news on your 95 year old mum on the mend. To turn this thread completely on its head with my new found role as a last responder/ body collector....yesterday I had to retrieve a 17yr who passed away from covid. A bizarre disease indeed.
