Multifunction buttons retrofit

Hey Guys,

Ive had a good look on the web but can only find really expensive options, can anyone tell me where I can order the multifunction buttons retrofit kit? My Zed already has an m-sport steering wheel & I would like to add this function.

The UK eBay seems a little hit and miss.

Once you've got the part number the best and cheapest place I know to order from is http://www.thebmwpartstore.com. Even by the time they post to me in Oz it's still the cheapest on the net.

I recently installed part number 65710304942 (graphite colour), which cost me US$205.79. This comes with replacement covers for all three spokes, as seen here.

From what I've seen, the multifunction button retrofit kit is not available for the M wheels as they are black spoke covers. So you would have to either make do with graphite covers or paint them black yourself. Note however that the replacement cover for the bottom spoke will need some slight modification with a dremel to make it fit the M wheel.

There's a lot of information about this on the forum - do some searching and pretty much all of your questions will be answered.

I'm looking at Z4 coupe at the moment that has an M sport steering wheel but no mutifunction buttons. Can someone confirm that the above is correct please ?

So basically to get the steering wheel you get with the comfort package you'd have to buy a full steering wheel ?
If you just buy the button kit you have to have different colour spokes and not black.

Sorry to hijack but thought instead of creating a new thread, as we are asking similar questions. :thumbsup:
 
this is not correct I believe , if you have a M -wheel I think it come to around 140 quid to fit it , 1 x is a frame 1 x buttons. I think the buttons are like hens teeth so I think the easy thing to do is buy direct and pay the bucks. I was looking a few weeks back at upgrading mine :wink:

These parts are available as not all Sport models came with MFSW.
 
In my defence, I said that a MFSW retrofit kit wasn't available for the M wheel. Or at least I couldn't find one listed on RealOEM. I guess if you can find out the part numbers of the buttons, surrounds/spoke covers and wiring loom for the M wheel then there's no reason you can't order them (from a dealer or independent parts source).

I cant seem to find the black either
