I've just had the fronts done on my E89 went for the dimpled and grooved with the protective coating and they look pretty good.
performance wise i've not had chance to really put them through their paces but others on the forum have rated them quite highly.

I fitted them all round when I had my e85 dimpled and grooved also with the coating, looked great also fitted the mtech pads too and had no problems with stopping, also dust levels were quite low.

I've had the dimpled and grooved put on mine just before lockdown, so only the odd drive out to the supermarket at the moment. Need to get out!!!! Lol

But look good, just need to paint my calipers now.

I tried dimpled & grooved discs on my MX5 but hated them. There was no improvement at all in braking and they made a lot of noise. The car was supercharged with 250bhp and used hard on track so they did get used properly.
I found it much better to fit the cheapest plain discs I could get but matched to the best pads I could afford.
IMO anything other than plain discs on a road car are just for the looks.

Had these on my MX5 as well. I'd agree for some reason they were noisy.
Got them on our R50 Mini Cooper and they are great. Not sure there is any greater performance? But they look nice!
Not got round to needing a new set on the E85 but when I do I'll probably get a set of these discs. Probably opt for a better spec of pads (i.e. buy separately).
