Hello 👋

Another ‘just wondering post’
I’ve seen a couple of times instances of the blue brembo Msport brake upgrades fitted to e89s. My brakes are approaching renewal (pads and rotors) I have a 35i and have been wondering what would be needed to do this.

I’ve tried a search on here but I can’t find anything , but that maybe I’m looking in wrong area I’m not that computer savvy I’m afraid, so any help, pointers would be great

Forgot to add, has anyone solved the rear msport brake conundrum, as there are calipers I think would work !!!!

Have the calipers got an electronic handbrake?

I have also been wondering this.
The standard brakes on the car a little plain.

Would be good to use the brakes from an M140i or M2, they would look really nice.

If the e89 were newer, BMW would have done this anyway.

I think there has been some discussion on using M140i brakes, but I don’t know the full extent of the project. It would be expensive too, probably in excess of £1200

This thread may help to put you off, not sure if it's the same model.

The discs and pads are easy to change even with the epb. If it's just for aesthetics, personally I would paint the existing calipers with a suitable blue paint (hammerite smooth works great if they do it in the colour) and buy some M-sport stickers for the calipers. There are big brake conversions out there, but I don't think they are cheap.

There is this how-to thread regarding a BBK
