lol I remember back then, you were swapping all the time.

I also had a UK MK2 then had a turbo engine fitted.

haha yeah russ, those were the days.... i remember those bodykits you used to make for the mr2's. shame you retired as i could see you making some quality stuff for the z4s

Yeah I enjoyed it while it lasted, not a lot of call for them anymore sadly.

I still keep my hand in though with the Fibreglassing replicating small parts which used to be made out of bakerlite for classic and vintage cars.

What did you used to make out of interest Russ? Did you advertise in MR2 only magazine at all?

I used to make bodykits for the MK2 MR2, bumpers, side skirts, front lips, TOMS scoops, side vents etc.
I never used to advertise myself but Rogue Motorsport used to have all my items on their website under my name (RMG Developments)

In fact I've just had a look at their site and everything I used to make is still there. I stopped making them over 2 years ago.

i can verify that russ had top notch kits, the fitment and quality was excellent

russ - you should look at doing some of those front lip and side skirt extensions for the e89, they look fairly easy to make and should sell quite well if you have the desire to go back into it

I recognise the kits yes, the magazine had a few feature cars kitted out during it's brief production run, as you say about demand etc good MR2's are very scarce now, lots of dogs around but the cars commanding 5k plus, especially N/A's are like rocking horse dump.

I speak regularly with the guy who runs Showcase sports cars nr Wakefield, he used to have 15 MR2's for sale on a regular basis, they we're his bread and butter but he has'nt found or sold one now for about 2 years, shame really, bit underestimated cars IMO.

I'm enjoying (very) early retirement  My wife earns good money
I don't think I would want to go back into making larger items anymore, I'm happy doing the few small bits I'm doing at the mo for a bit of pocket money.
But it does give you a bit of a buzz when you see cars out and about with things on you have made as I did in the MR2 world.
I also made kits for Vauxhall Vivaro, Mercedes Vito and VW T5 vans.

I miss it really :( :(

lol alright for some. my ex used to just rob me of my money but yeah i know where you are coming from. i did a lot of buying and selling of mr2 bits in my time. it was hard to leave behind but i no longer felt appreciated so moved onto other things. cant complain though, those other things pay well and i havent worked for 6 months now so i guess im semi retired too
